What counts as a pause

Clean recordings usually have completely silent pauses, so the defaults fit most of the time.

?How quiet the sound must be to count as silence. Lower (−55 dB) only catches very clean silence. Higher (−35 dB) also catches breaths and soft room noise.
?Only pauses longer than this are changed. Raise it to leave the short breaks between words alone.

New pauses

Long pauses stay a bit longer than short ones, plus a little randomness.

?How short the shortest pauses become. Set it to 0 to almost remove them.
?How long the longest pauses can be. The longest pauses in your file end up close to this.
?How much randomness is added, so the pauses aren't all the same length. At 0 % a pause of the same length always gets the same new length.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove silence from a voiceover?

Choose your audio file, pick a preset and listen to the result. The tool finds the pauses and makes them shorter. When it sounds right, click Download result.

Does it work with ElevenLabs and other AI voices?

Yes, it is made for them. AI voices usually have clean silence, so the presets work right away. It also works with your own recordings. If there is background noise, open Custom and raise the silence threshold.

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser, on your own computer. Your file never leaves your device.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Yes. You can use every tool for free, without an account. Free use has a limit, and if you use it a lot, an unlimited plan will be available.

What is the difference between Standard, Shorts and Custom?

Standard keeps a natural pace for most videos. Shorts makes the pauses shorter for fast videos like Shorts, TikTok and Reels, and Tighter cuts a little closer to the voice. Custom lets you set everything yourself and save your own presets.

Can I keep a pause that I don't want cut?

Yes. Click an orange area in the Original waveform. It turns green and that pause is left as it is. Click it again to cut it after all.

Which format should I download?

WAV is the safest choice for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro. FLAC has the same quality in a smaller file, but not every program opens it. MP3, M4A and AAC are small files for sharing and uploading, and MP3 works almost everywhere. WAV and FLAC keep the bit depth of your original file. Some browsers, like Firefox, can't make M4A or AAC files. Then use WAV or FLAC.

Is there a limit on how long the file can be?

Files up to about an hour open right away. Longer WAV and MP3 files work too, even many hours long. They are read in parts, so opening and saving takes a bit longer, and they can be saved as WAV, FLAC or MP3. Long MP3 files may need Chrome or Edge.

Does it remove mouth clicks and breaths?

Small mouth clicks and lip smacks inside the pauses are removed automatically. Breaths and sounds right next to a word are left alone, so the voice itself is never damaged. Shorts with Tighter cuts a little closer to the voice.
